Move back from TrueNAS Scale to Unraid: ZFS pools with encrypted dataset

Featured Replies

Hi all,

after being an Unraid user for some time, i moved to TrueNAS Scale because Unraid's SMB speed was just insufferably slow compared to TrueNAS. However, TrueNAS has its own quirks and lacks a decent Docker integration that i am able to understand & configure.

Time to move back to Unraid.

My question:

I have around 8TB in an encrypted ZFS pool on my TrueNAS installation right now.

I could not find up to date information, but is it possible to import the ZFS pool with encrypted datasets with Unraid? I did not encrypt the whole pool but encrypted the datasets inside.

Thank you!

Currently Unraid does not support native zfs encryption, only full device LUKS encryption.
