Moving away from unraid

Featured Replies

Hello,

After several years using unraid, mainly for plex database and gaming VM.  I am tired of its random crash due to plex or the VM. Today all my docker disappeared and cache was unmountable for no reason. I tried many things (format cache /change docket setting to ipvlan/ downgrade unraid/ still unstable)

I have now decided to move away from it.

I have 4 disk + 1 parity and one SSD (cache pool)

When I will connect those drive into another pc will i be able to read the data ?

Thanks !

You should have no problem mounting the data drives on another OS as long as the "other OS" supports the filesystem used on the disks.

Thank you for the feedback.

Can windows 10 read the file on the drive ? I would like to copy them on one another drive ?

Thanks for your help !

Out of the box, no. Paragon makes software to allow you to read ext, xfs, and btrfs on Windows. I don't have any experience with it though so I can't really recommend it. You could mount them in Linux though to do your file transfer.
