January 8, 20242 yr A few months ago I decided to purchase a Synology DS923+ NAS, I didn't really think it through fully in terms of upgrading in the future or how long it might suit my needs for. It turns out, not very long at all when you end up using it far more than originally anticipated. A friend then introduced me to Unraid, something I at that point had no idea about. I've looked into it a bit and seen that It could be used for a host of different things for me specifically and even some I'm slightly unsure of. My use cases would be, to host a plex server for 3 - 5 users max, I'd like to be able to do multiple 4K HDR streams at the same time, to host game servers for games such as Minecraft, Squad, V-Rising, or any others that pop up in the future without having to stop/start them just to start another one up, store camera photos + cctv footage, maybe host a web server too if possible. At present, this is the build I have in my basket: ASRock B760M-HDV/M.2 D4 Intel i5 13500 Corsair RM750x 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair DDR4, PC4-24000 (3000), Non-ECC Unbuffered Fractal Design Define 7 As for drives, I've got a 1TB M.2 Intel 660p that I intend to throw in there, along with my existing drives and another new 8TB HDD. Would this build be sufficient?

The only limitations I see is I would add more memory (16GB is limiting when spinning up a few VMs) and note that you only have 4 SATA ports on the motherboard and 1x16 and 2x1 PCIe slots if you need add a HBA/SATA card for more drives.
