UNRAID NETWORK CONNECTION CRASH

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm reaching out to you because I'm facing major issues with my Unraid server. Suddenly and recurrently, my server crashes at the level of the Ethernet interfaces, preventing any connection to the Unraid server. Additionally, the hosted dockers lose their connection as well. I'm forced to manually power off the machine by holding down the power button, then restart it, and everything works again as if nothing happened. This issue occurs once a week. I really don't understand what's happening. I've tried deleting plugins, etc., but nothing seems to resolve the problem. I can't see or understand where it's coming from.

Jan  6 12:12:26 unRAIDCloud kernel: macvlan_broadcast+0x10a/0x150 [macvlan]
Jan  6 12:12:26 unRAIDCloud kernel: macvlan_process_broadcast+0xbc/0x12f [macvlan]

Macvlan call traces will usually end up crashing the server, switching to ipvlan should fix it (Settings -> Docker Settings -> Docker custom network type -> ipvlan (advanced view must be enabled, top right)), then reboot.

You can generate new ones.

OK, that shows docker using ipvlan, do you remember when you changed that, and did you reboot after changing it?

The macvlan call trace on Jan 6 suggests it was still using macvlan at the time, and it can crash only later, even if already changed to ipvlan, if the server was not rebooted after the change.

I put IPvLAN on December 27, 2023 and rebooted the machine, I'm going to do a clean reboot just in case... that's why I'm completely lost... I was thinking of a script so I deleted tailscale and fixed common problem that I was using but nothing works, the same, I deleted some docker just in case but I have the same problem..
