January 13, 20242 yr Hello, I'm new to the NAS world, I brought a HBA: Adaptec ASR 71605 16 Ports SAS HBA Mode Raid Card 1GB Cache w/ SAS 3 to 4x SATA Motherboard: Asus B85M-G R2.0 Motherboard w/ Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz 8GB 1600Mhz Ram I'm able to see it when it' boots up into BIOS for the HBA, but when I boot unraid in GUI mode it can't detect it at all I reached out to the seller for HBA and they said they shipped it in IT mode, but still very confused Going into BIOS mode --> Adaptec RAID Configuration Utility --> Disk Utility Edited January 13, 20242 yr by Nikstar adding a image
January 14, 20242 yr You should provide your diagnostics to see if the card is detected, initialized properly.

January 14, 20242 yr Author Also wanted to add that my server can detect the harddrives if i connect it directly from Harddrive to motherboard
January 15, 20242 yr The controller is being detected and initialized correctly, as far as I can see, so possibly and since that's a RAID controller, you may need to passthrough the disks, or create a raid0/jbod for each disk, I have no experience with those controllers but if you search the forum you may find more info.
January 26, 20242 yr Author Thank you both!! @JorgeB and @ChatNoir with the help that the HBA was initializing properly, and that i might have to format my disk, I went through and did a disk check from my HBA and found out about Create array..... which was the missing link. But thank you so much for your help I wouldn't have figured this out with you both!!! Very much appreciated!!
