Assistance setting up time machine over AFP with 5b12

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I setup my unRaid pro a few weeks ago and have moved on from just data consolidation to setting up time machine. I have searched around the forums and found a post that spoke to using SMB but I think I need to use AFP.

I have the share setup and my mac can see it, but the time machine application doesn't register it for me to select it as the backup volume. Additionally I added the share as both public and then tried as private with a login/password, but I am having problems with permissions to write to the volume through finder.

I'm sure I'm missing something simple here. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Well of course after not posting the question all day, I post it and figure it out. Instead of using a user share, setting it up as a disk share worked almost immediately.
