unRaid 6.12.6 - Can't remove parity disks as described in the manual

Featured Replies

Having a error free array on my secondary unRaid device I was getting some read problems on one of the two parity disks while the array remained green.

I can't post the system log as stopping the array got rid of the entry's. The lines stated Prio2 in the log, more details I don't remember.

For that drive .txt from the SMART diagnostics is included. WDC_WD60EFRX-68MYMN1_WD-WX11D4404758-2022-11-20 parity (sdg).txt

I've decided to move from double to single parity and analyze the offending disk in a different environment.

The manual states:

Trying to do this I'm not presented with the "Unassigned" option but

Selecting no device flags the  parity2 disk as missing, hence the array expects a replacement without allowing me to move to single parity.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your time to read this and your help!

After unassigning the disk you just need to check the "I want to do this" box next to array start.

Thank you.

Yes, the resulting array once started is not asking for a missing disk anymore.
