January 27, 20242 yr I currently have a 4U chassis holding an AMD motherboard and accessories. From there, I have 2 SFP cables going to a DELL MD1200 rack unit. It's been flawless for several years but now the fans are at full speed and I can't stand the noise. I don't care to troubleshoot what's wrong either. Who makes the BEST JBOD rack case for atleast 12 drives? My current setup is a 6GB throughput system. Does UNRAID support faster controllers now?
January 28, 20242 yr For fan noise, you can replace some quiet fan to solve if you won't troubleshoot why full speed currently. For 12 disk, a single 6gb link already enough. No much selling point to make change.
January 28, 20242 yr Author Decided to get the 45 home lab case. https://store.45homelab.com/. and replace my current external port controller with an LSI9300-16. Hope everything goes smooth.
