Unstable USB 3.0

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm having some trouble with my current setup.

I have a nuc connected to a 4 bay external enclosure with 2 disks atm (Icybox IB-3740-C31 with VIA VL820 controller).

1 SSD for caching general downloads and media, and 1 nvme for dockers.

Everything was working fine until a few days ago where I started noticing extremely slow copy speeds to the array, and I started getting spammed with this message on syslog.

usb 2-2.1: reset SuperSpeed Plus Gen 2x1 USB device number 11 using xhci_hcd

Coincidentally this happened after I installed the USB_Manager Plugin, however I'm not sure if it's related as I've already uninstalled it and the problem persists.

I'm pretty much at the point where I feel like throwing the enclosure away and move this to a proper case, but would like to keep some of my pride and make it work. Any help is appreciated.

This is the best idea.

USB not recommended for array or pools for many reasons.
