February 2, 20242 yr First off hello to fell Unraidians. Long time considerer short time user Been trying Unraid/Linux distros/TrueNas for the past few days to settle down on an easy to manage file server, mostly for backing up my main PC which is a window s 10 Pro install I have the Plus subscription Network, Both PC's are running 1Gbe onboard NICS and i have 10Gbe Acquantia PCIE cards installed into both PC's, thats all fine and dandy, i worked out how to seperate the NICS for purpose of purely LAN and internet access without crossing over so file transfers are only over the 10Gbe. I've installed the ZFS Master, Unassigned Devices plugins. My setup i'm trying to achieve is 2xZFS Raidz1 pools. 1 - 4x8TB Seagate Ironwolfs 2 - 4x10TB Seagate Ironwolfs 1 - USB flash drive for the Array requirement. and an M.2 for Cache Obviously if i set the 8 drives as 1 pool thatd likely all work but i would be missing 8TB of space due to ZFS basing its aggregation on the smallest drives same as parity would, had permission issues with 1 of the pools initially but worked around that with Tools/New Permissions If i set them up as 2 seperate pools and share/create datasets, moving to windows only the 4x10Tb shows the correct size. The other only shows less then 760Mb free and that's not just visual, if i try to copy more then that it sais there's not enough space. In Unraid its showing the correct sizes for both. Any ideas to get windows to show the correct size of the smaller pool? Addition, just noticed Unraid is reporting wrong size on the shares page, i even disabled Cache to see if that was the issue Edited February 2, 20242 yr by GameOverAus
February 3, 20242 yr Author I solved my own issue, something was screwy with the shares from trying, wiping, setup again rollercoast. Basically it was looking for the wrong drive for some reason, in this case it was looking at Drive 1 as part of the share which was the cache drive totalling 1TB i don't know why, when it wasn't but whatever.. If you share the boot usb files and open the config folder, shares and delete the share file from there and then recreate it, it finally worked. You can also do this to get rid of old shares that dont exist but Unraid still sais the name is not reusable or they show in the shares as inactive
