SSD Only Configuration

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm currently going through the motions of trying to decide on an OS for my server and Unraid is what I would like to be my pick. Due to my Server being in the same room with me I've opted to use only SSD drives in it to prevent excess noise. I've read through a few threads and tried to piece together advice from a few different people. Currently, I have three SSDs in a pool (zfs and raid0) and an NVME drive in my array to hold onto the app config files.

A few questions that I still have are: is there a "best" configuration for SSDs, will there be a performance hit using them, and will using only SSDs with Unraid decrease the lifespan of the SSD?

TYIA!

No problem using only SSDs, but recommend assigning them all as pools, you can use an old flash drive to fulfill the current array device requirement.
