This round of price markups could be vendors predicting a shortage.

It could be serious.

It could be short lived and back on track in 2 weeks.

it is a guessing game. I just wanted to be prepared.

 

With Christmas coming up in 2 months. I am sure the industry will be pushing hard to get back on track..

I just did not have enough storage to make it 2 months...

I guess i could get another 30TB gutting my backup server.. but then I'd have no backups... i guess i could deleted some bluray rips and re-rip then again later...

I just rather stay ahead of the game..

i am just guessing JR will just sell at that price until they run out. They are not really a computer parts vendor.

 

I looked at that WD lastnight. I ended up getting hitachis for a few bucks more.

I have not looked at the news today. last i heard, the water is slowly going down. it does look to be somewhat of an international concern..

 

Dont sell your first born for a hard drive.

Odds are it *won't* be cheaper in the next couple of months by more than $20 than the $119...  But maybe it will still be more..  So if I gamble $20 and lose, I won't cry...  Let's hope I get a good one that will pre-clear nicely...  I'd hate to struggle with a return! that was exactly how i felt. "it wont get any cheaper then it is today any time soon." and if it does, i gambled and lost.
