Network Issues when copying files to server

Featured Replies

Been running unraid now for about 2 years or so.  As long as ive had the setup ive had an odd issue when i transfer files to the server.  Im running unraid server plus 4.4.2.  Basically what happens is for some reason the server times out when I transfer files to it.  The computer im transferring from says that "tower is unavailable".  Im wondering if there could be some sort of driver issue with the omboard nic on the main board.  Ive attacheh my syslog from the server also.

Thanks in advance....

This stood out to me in your syslog:

Oct 22 05:10:25 Tower dhcpcd[1145]: broadcasting DHCP_REQUEST for 192.168.2.11
Oct 22 05:10:25 Tower dhcpcd[1145]: dhcpIPaddrLeaseTime=86400 in DHCP server response.
Oct 22 05:10:25 Tower dhcpcd[1145]: dhcpT1value is missing in DHCP server response. Assuming 43200 sec
Oct 22 05:10:25 Tower dhcpcd[1145]: dhcpT2value is missing in DHCP server response. Assuming 75600 sec
Oct 22 05:10:25 Tower dhcpcd[1145]: DHCP_NAK server response received
Oct 22 05:10:25 Tower kernel: r8169: eth0: link up
Oct 22 05:10:25 Tower dhcpcd[1145]: broadcasting DHCP_DISCOVER

What's your lease time on your DHCP server?  It looks like it's doing a DHCP renewal and it received a NAK from the DHCP server, meaning that IP had been issued elsewhere or for whatever reason, the DHCP server didn't want to give you the same IP that the server had previously.  That could definitely interrupt communications.

We could troubleshoot that, but honestly, I would suggest using a static IP address on your server.  That way, you won't be changing IP's on your server and potentially disrupting communications.

Hope that helps.
