March 9, 200818 yr I'm having problems off and on connecting to my gigabit network. I had similar probs when I was using onboard GB port on my desktop and once I installed linksys GB card the problems were gone. If I want to install linksys card in MD1500 which I bought from Lime tech, how do I install the driver for it? Thanks mani
March 9, 200818 yr The drivers for most gigabit lan cards are already in the unRaid distribution. There is nothing you need to install if it is supported. What model linksys card do you plan on installing? What "chipset" does the linksys card use? You should only need to disable the existing network interface in your motherboard's BIOS to keep unRaid from using the wrong one.
March 9, 200818 yr You will need to be a tiny bit more specific about the LAN card model. from my quick google search it appears as if Linksys has several versions of that card, "v1", "v2", "v3" and that they do not all use the same chipset. I did not see anyone else in this forum with the same card, so I'd drop a line to Tom before purchasing it to make sure it is supported. He'll probably need to know the specific model and, if possible, the chipset on the card. Joe L.
March 9, 200818 yr I put an Intel Pro 1000 'PT' PCI-E NIC into my system and its been rock solid with "best you can get" performance.
March 10, 200818 yr its v3.0 I dont know which chipset it has thanks mani Pull the board out of the system and find the biggest chip on it. It should say something like "Intel", "Realtek", "Marvell", or maybe just have a corporate logo on it. SirWired
March 11, 200818 yr First google hit shows it to be the RealTek RTL-8169S. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=linksys+eg1032+v3.0 Bill
