orangehenry
I'm following one of Raj's prototype design's. I've got all the parts now and am in the process of putting them together. I have an Antec 1200 as the case and then also Norco SS-500's. They don't seem to fit without bashing down the tabs that keep each 5.25 bay separate. Am I doing this the wrong way? ProfQ
No worries. You're doing it correctly. The tabs have to be bent down so the 5in3 cages fit in your case. You can use a C-Clamp (preferably a long neck version), a small hammer and/or pliers with a rag to minimise scratching of your Antec's internals. Quote Link to comment
orangehenry
So i got it in (in the top 3 drive bays) but I the holes for the screws don't seem to line up (they're almost there - maybe .5/.75mm out). Is that usual? Does it even matter? Quote Link to comment
ProfQ
Bolt alignment, as well as screw length can be an issue when installing the Norco cages. You should try to line up as many holes as possible, to secure the drive cage in place. Mine is held with screws in only three of the four corners, yet it is very solidly in place. Use your best judgement, and I'd strongly suggest you check how far into the cage the screws end up being. You might have to use a washer or two on the screws. Quote Link to comment
orangehenry
my problem is I can't get a single screw to go in, which means that when pulling a hdd in/out the whole enclosure moves thereby eliminating the point of spending the extra money on the hot swap bay.... Do you have your's in the top 3 bays of the antec or elsewhere? Quote Link to comment
Johnm
if you have the cage upside down, it wont line up, I assume you checked that? Quote Link to comment
ProfQ
+1 to what Johnm said. I think it's time you considered inverting the drive cage. Quote Link to comment
orangehenry
if you have the cage upside down, it wont line up, I assume you checked that? You'd assume so, but you'd be wrong. Thanks mate!!! Quote Link to comment
Johnm
not a problem. as long as you got a laugh out of it.. you know that if they made it idiot proof, they would just make a better idiot... (in no way was that aimed at you) Quote Link to comment
orangehenry
I did! I don't suppose you would know why my Asus M4A78LT M LE and AMD Sempron 265 won't start properly. When I hit the power button all the fans come on (as does the indicator light on the mobo) but I can't get indication of life on my display. Quote Link to comment

Not sure what else you might have plugged in right now but I would go back to basics. Plug in only CPU and power and try to start the board. it should fail because of lack of RAM. ad a single ram stick, rinse and repeat. Quote Link to comment
