NetApp DS4246 Disk Array Shelf missing drives

Featured Replies

I have a NetApp DS4246 Disk Array Shelf. Ever since I installed it, it's been a guessing game as to whether or not the disks would be recognized when Unraid booted up. It used to be that after a few restarts eventually all the disks would get recognized and then once the array was started, there'd be 0 issues. Recently, I've not been as lucky and even when it does recognize most of the disks, 1 disk is showing up as missing. Yesterday it was disk 12. Today it's disk 13.  I am using this cable "40G QSFP+ DAC Twinax Cable, 40GBASE-CR4 Passive Direct Attach Copper Cable, 1m(3.3ft), 40G QSFP Cable for Cisco QSFP-H40G-CU1M, Meraki MA-CBL-40G-1M, Intel XLDACBL1, Mikrotik, Netgear, TP-Link, D-Link" and this controller "Netapp 111-00341 4-Port SAS QSFP 6Gbps HBA vt"

I am willing to buy new hardware. I just need it to work consistently.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Could be a connection issue, but those controllers have been known to have some issues, do you have an LSI HBA you could try with? Note that you'd need a different cable.
