February 12, 20242 yr Hello! I have a 14TB sata drive that was a parity original drive to my build. Before upgrading to 20TB parity it stopped being detected after a reboot (no change or hardware touch). I thought the drive failed after just under 2 years. Pulled the drive out and adding my 20TB, rebuild, replaced 2nd parity and rebuild just fine. Added working parity to the array. Now I pulled the not detecting drive and plugged into my windows 11 machine. Came right up and wanted to format. No smart errors. Formatted drive and worked, no issue. So I thought maybe it was the sata cable or power. Went back to my unraid and powered down. Added drive back and swapped a working set of sata cables and power to the not detected drive. Still nothing. Using a 16 sata raid controller in IT mode. Did not see if the drive posted in bios as its headless. Again this same drive worked just fine under windows 11. So strange. Can help? tower-diagnostics-20240212-1845.zip
