Dying cache drive, how to save and replace?

I have a cache drive that is on its way out...gives me lots of warnings and refuses to spin down.  On this disk I have sabnzbd, sickbeard, and a mysql database running.  Therefore, I want to back this data all up prior to replacing the drive.  Is there any particular method I should use to go about doing this? Or just copy everything to an array drive temporarily, insert new drive, assign as cache, format, and then copy all data back over?
