HDD with read Errors

Featured Replies

Hello together,

Since a crash of my server I have some read errors on my second HDD.

Could someone help me to solve it?

It's logged as a disk problem and SMART doesn't look great, run an extended SMART test.

hi, I did the test and the result looks quite positive.

Any idea what happened or what to do?

Post the SMART report just to see the other attributes.

Since the test passed technically the disk is OK, at least at this moment, but based on these and the previous logged errors:

ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME          FLAGS    VALUE WORST THRESH FAIL RAW_VALUE
  1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate     POSR-K   199   199   051    -    31282
200 Multi_Zone_Error_Rate   ---R--   194   194   000    -    2506

I would expect more errors very soon, you can try and give it another chance but most likely will need to replace it in the near future.

Thanks a lot for the support - what ist the best way to replace it. Rather to rebuild by parity or other way.

You should click on each of your WD disks and add those attributes, 1, 200, for monitoring.
