If I set a large move/copy to background mode does exiting MC kill that move/copy also? Is there a way to submit a move job using MC and then exit the terminal and still have the move still going?

 

 

I honestly dont use MC, but I am sure screen would work if your using telnet.

if you're using IPMI, you can disconnect and come back to the console.

 

you could always move a test file, something large like a movie and disconnect..

Yeah, the best way is just to try it.

 

I've always left my terminals open until I'm done with them. Sometimes I find ones I've forgotten about days later.
