NodNarb012 Posted October 28, 2011 Share Posted October 28, 2011 I'm trying to help a friend recover some important data from a Western Digital 160GB Caviar SE WD1600 SATA hard drive. We've determined that the logic board is bad, so we're looking for a working logic board from the same model drive. The model number listed on the drive is WD1600JD-22HBC0. The barcode on the logic board says "2061 - 701267 - 200 AL XS 2C63 0YFY 9 0001030 6031" Does anyone know if this will even work? Quote Link to comment

I have the following HP-branded drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 160 Gbytes 7200 RPM SATA S/N: 5RX3ZHTA ST3160815AS P/N: 9CY132-785 Firmware: HPG1 Date Code: 08353 Site Code: WU HP Model: GB0160CAABV HP PN: 440300-003 CT: 2AABV0183VR07J HP GPN: 397377-019 Security ID: 5F84PW7 Replace with spare part # 399968-001 As it is rebranded by HP, I'm not sure if it is a match with your drive or not. Hopefully the above info is enough for you to do some research and find out (you might need to contact Seagate or HP). This is one of my test drives, and I'm willing to part with it. It is still in the anti-static bag, which I'll have to open I think to get all the numbers off of it. Be right back. Ok, here is what I have. Western Digital 160GB WD1600AAJS I also have a DELL labeled drive that says made by Western Digital. That also is 160GB. WD1602ABKS I don't know what you exactly need, but those are the two I have. FYI: simply swapping the logic boards did not work initially, we also had to swap one of the chips on the original logic board to the replacement board. Lucky for us, we found someone with some mad soldering skills who did that part for $10. Quote Link to comment
