March 10, 200818 yr So we all know that more than 1 gig of RAM is not recommened for unraid. Will it recognize more than 1 gig? Is it able to recognize it, but just not use it? What if it would recognize it, but just not use it. Could you set a ram drive and put a swap file on it? Essentially going around the 1 gig limitation?
March 10, 200818 yr in 4.2... There is no way around the 1GB limit unless you recompile the kernel. Currently the kernel is configured to only recognize 1GB. You can install more in prepration for later, when the kernel is updated to see the extra ram. (or you could recompile the kernel now for the extra support).
