February 18, 20242 yr For some reason I am no longer able to connect from my Mac to Unraid shares using SMB including Time Machine. It prompts for login and I provide the username and password that has access and it keeps telling me it's wrong. I've even gone in to the Unraid console and changed the password for the user account to make sure I'm typing it right. Not sure when this started as I don't use my shares from Mac often. They seem to work from other devices like Windows, Nvidia Shield etc. Mac interoperability is enabled in SMB settings and I have not made any changes here, just normal Unraid updating. How can I get my Mac reconnected? nicknas2-diagnostics-20240218-1401.zip
February 18, 20242 yr This is the user you're trying? valid users = n...5 Also, for absolute best Mac (especially with TM shares) you should be on 6.12.8+

Will get to updating shortly
February 18, 20242 yr .8 won't really affect anything other than TM. Is the password super complex or something? Try simplifying
February 18, 20242 yr Author Just now, Squid said: .8 won't really affect anything other than TM. Is the password super complex or something? Try simplifying nope it's actually quite basic and is working from other platforms such as Windows and Nvidia Shield
February 18, 20242 yr Author rebooted Mac and now Unraid, .8 did not help. Password is just letters and numbers and has worked for years
September 29, 20241 yr This same thing happened to me. I was trying to add a second share to my user in Macbook. Could not connect to it, couldn't find it. Had to add it as public for moment in my LAN, do changes and revert back. When I tried the changes later on, as private share, it suddenly worked correct
November 1, 20241 yr Hi, How do I connect to a share on my Unraid server from my Mac without a password (as a guest)? I created a new share called "media" on Unraid and set the Security to "Public." However, when I click on my Unraid server in Finder on my Mac, I see "Not Connected." I would like to connect as guest without entering any password, just like to my Synology NAS.
