I'm having trouble getting my computer to see my unraid server so I can start transferring over to it and crack on with using it. I can access it though internet explorer but I'm having no joy on the hdd access front? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I'm a newbie, but let me ask what may already be obvious.  Have you tried:

\\tower

or

trying to hit the unRaid server's IP address, for example, \\192.168.1.XXX (replace XXX with actual IP address)

Finally, you might look at creating a Share in the unRaid's setup.  This would come from the menu in Windows Explorer you mentioned.

I can access the server through internet explorer without a problem. What I'm struggling with is getting my computer to see the hdd's. I have them setup to be shared and have been in to 'SMB' and turned this on to, but to no avail!

Please post screen shots of share settings.

added, thanks

Try restarting everything: client, server, router, switch.

What are you using to try and access the unraid box. Make sure the workgroup is the same
