October 31, 201114 yr Ok...I have a friend who has a failing unRAID drive, pending sectors are increasing with each read attempt. He doesn't have space available on the remaining drives to copy the data over, nor a spare drive to put into the array <increasing drive prices >. Does he have any option other than leaving it in the array and hope for the best?

The next thing I would do is attempt to find some place to put the files, especially if they are important. BestBuy is selling a 2TB Seagate LP for $80 right now... might want to jump on that while it lasts.
October 31, 201114 yr Author Thanks prostuff...I thought getting the drive out was better as well. But- forgot you could run (simulate) without having to "initconfig"!
