[solved][Q] Cache disk with multiple partitions

Featured Replies

I want to try installing unraid in a full slackware distro.

( I will update the wiki as I go: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Installing_unRAID_5.0_on_a_full_Slackware_Distro . it's a little oudated )

So my question is this:

How can I use my hard drive as both the cache drive and the slackware install location?

Can I just create 3 partitions, one for swap, slackware install and cache and then assign the cache partition to the unraid array?

(I've never had a drive with multiple partitions plugged in to unraid before, that's why I'm asking )

yes, but the cache partition must be partition 1.

(There were some early betas that re-formatted multi-partition cache drives, you probably need to use a recent beta)
