Turning "Monaco Text-Editor" a Lightweight Editor into an Unraid Plugin

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, I'm exploring the idea of converting Monaco Text-Editor a lightweight editor into an Unraid plugin and need some advice:

  • Feasibility: How realistic is this project? Is it a viable path, or should I consider alternative directions?
  • Starting Point: Where should I start and how to generally approach this?
  • Non-Docker Solution: Aiming for an editor that works independently of Docker services.

Would love to hear your thoughts and any guidance you can offer. Thanks!

Honestly I'd go the Docker route...

Running all that on the OS itself and maintaining the dependencies is going to be hell.

I only see disadvantages here as opposed to a Docker image which is detached from the OS.

First question is why. What usecase do you envision?

I'd like to have some kind of editing option for config files when the array isn't online. It doesn't have to be the Monaco editor; if there is something simpler to start off with, even better.

Thx, from what I know this is discontinued on the newer unraid versions.
