November 4, 201114 yr SOLVED: Stopped array, unassigned cache drive, then reassigned it. I installed a cache drive and I noticed that it's not moving the files over at the times i've scheduled. I've tried: 10 6 * * * (6:10am everyday) 00 9 * * * (9:00am everyday) 10 6 * * friday (6:10am fridays) Mover Logger: Enabled I've made sure my server has the correct time set: 2011-11-04 08:48:56 (Computer clock says 8:48 11/4/11) Starting the mover manually works, however automatic seems broken, am I doing this wrong?
November 4, 201114 yr Any errors in the syslog? Just for the heck of it have you tried setting mover logging to disabled and then re enabling ? I am sure someone with more knowledge than me will come along shortly, I am a linux noob myself.
November 4, 201114 yr Author Any errors in the syslog? Just for the heck of it have you tried setting mover logging to disabled and then re enabling ? I am sure someone with more knowledge than me will come along shortly, I am a linux noob myself. No errors at all and I have tried that. Only thing I see this morning is: "Nov 4 09:04:01 UNRAID crond[1320]: failed parsing crontab for user root: friday /usr/local/sbin/mover |& logger " However that's 3 hours after what I have it set right now. I notice "friday" in there, so it seems like thats not a valid command or something? Either way it doesn't work with the stock mover setting and gives no error.
November 4, 201114 yr What version of unRAID? Syslog? The first 2 settings you are using appear to be fine for 4.7. I know 4.7 doesn't accept the newer 6th field for year. I don't believe it will accept "friday" either. I use "0 2 * * 1" for every monday at 2am. Do you have any time zone info on the server? I'm just asking how you verified the server time. Looking at a syslog or a clock on the web interface? Peter

Looking at a syslog or a clock on the web interface? Peter 5.0 b12a. The syslog has nothing in it since boot that isn't involving transmission and that one line up above. It seems like it didn't even attempt to start the mover. The server time is shown right up top when in the time options (atleast on 5.0): Current date & time: Fri Nov 4 11:22:52 2011 CDT
November 4, 201114 yr I think there is some issue with the mover in the beta that requires a workaround. Peter
November 10, 201114 yr Author Still need help with this.. It's still not working. I've found nothing about 5.0 needing any special tweaks to get this working.
November 10, 201114 yr two thoughts.. 1. if you telnet in and type "mover", does the mover kick off? 2. do you have an add-in the might conflict, like perhaps "simple features"? that might overwrite your settings since it has a contol section for setting up the mover.

Yes I do have Simple Features installed, where is this control section? I've been using this for awhile and haven't seen anything like that. Just did another run through everything and not seeing anything.
November 10, 201114 yr Hidden under shares or where you set the free space for cache? I'm not in front of a server ATM.
November 10, 201114 yr Author Hidden under shares or where you set the free space for cache? I'm not in front of a server ATM. There's where I set it, same thing on normal unRAID just different icons. Unless we are talking about different things. Typing "mover" moves the data like normal.
November 10, 201114 yr Ok it was just a thought. I had mine set to every 6 hours in go script and when I added simple features, it went back to " off"
November 10, 201114 yr Author Ok it was just a thought. I had mine set to every 6 hours in go script and when I added simple features, it went back to " off" Yea I don't know what is going on, this should be working.. it's not like it's something that works on one machine and not on the other. Manual mover works, so automatic mover should too.. Sigh..
November 11, 201114 yr Author Stopping array and unassigning cache drive, then reassign it fixed this.
