problems transferring large files between Vista PC and unraid server

Featured Replies

I have been using unRAID server (MD1500) for few months with windows XP based desktop and have not had any problems transferring files. Now I built another PC and installed Vista premium . I'm using Gigabyte Mobo with inbuilt gigabit network port. It wont allow me to transfer any files. It was using realtek drivers. So I installed same Linksys PCI ethernet card that I was using in my XP based system into the new PC. Now the connection with unRAID server is very stable , but even now I cant transfer large files (i.e. few GB. I was trying to transfer 20 GB file and every time I try it stops in the middle - and I get a message the file is not available any more , check network connection). Network connection is  fine . I can access all the drives on unRAID server. I can open and use that file on vista based PC. I can transfer it fine to a USB connected external hard drive. And every time transfer stops after different percentage of completed transfer.

any suggestions. I am able to transfer same file from XP based PC connected to same network, onto my unRAID server.

mani

any suggestions.

Vista SP1.

I second that. SP1. It is out in MSDN/Technet and soon publicly.

I use it and seems to have changed many things in file transfers (and in fact everywhere since it is a HUGE download).
