Drive Light Stays On

For some reason, the drive light for my new Seagate 3TB drive (ST3000DM001) stays on all the time.  It flashes like it should when the drive is being accessed.  it's running off a Supermicro PCI-X controller card.  I have no problems with the drive other then that minor annoyance.

 

Any suggestions?
