Added raidz1 vdev to existing pool. UI not showing new disks correctly

Featured Replies

Hi,

I had a ZFS z1 pool that had 3x 8tb drives. I was running a little low on space so added 3x 4tb drive (performance not a concern with different capacity drives). I couldn't do it via the UI (at least that I could figure out) so I used CLI to add the drives. Everything appears to have been setup properly but the UI doesn't look like it has.

  • Pool shows 6 drives but only shows details of 3 original 8tb
  • 3 4tb disks added show in Unassigned Devices
  • Zpool Status looks ok to me

How can I get the UI to show the drives in the UI?

The GUI currently doesn't allow adding smaller capacity devices, that should be fixed for the next release

You can reimport the pool, stop the array, unassign the 3 pool devices, start array, stop array, reassign the 6 pool devices in the same order and the zpool status shows, leave the filesystem set to auto, start the array.

Thank @JorgeB I was thinking about reimporting via CLI but this worked perfectly and all drives are showing in the GUI. Thanks a ton for the help!
