VM cannot connect to host after disabeling bridging mode

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'v had some Issues with my Setup lately (frozen Webui/Crashes/etc). After some research I found out, that it had to do with my Docker macvlan. I tried using ipvlan, but it dosen't work, because my Router/firewall (pfsense as a VM with dedicated 4-port NIC). I couldn't get the containers to be reachable from the outside, while internaly seperating them from the rest of the network.

Now I tried to disable the bridge on eth0 and all my dockers are running fine now, but my VMs have connection to everything but the host. I can reach the internet and my other Services on my network just as expected. The only thing I cannot reach is my UNRAID-Box. I cannot even ping it.

I even tried to add a custom virtial bridge between my VMs and added a virtual NIC on my pfsense. I still can access the everything via the virtual network between my VMs but still cannot reach my UNRAID.

I would like to keep eth0 unbridged since this lets me use all of my dockers, but I still need connection to UNRAID from my VMs.

I hope somebody can help.
