November 5, 201114 yr I recently did a clean install of beta 13 from 4.7 and am now having trouble with the Activity Directory integration. I backed up my 4.7 configuration and reformatted my USB key and copied over the beta 13. After successfully booting I executed the Utilities/New Permissions script to reset ownership of the content on the drives to nobody:users. According to the SMB profile under the settings the system successfully joined the domain however when I execute: getent passwd or getent group I do not see any of the AD users/groups like I did in unraid 4.7. Executing wbinfo -u or wbinfo -g does return the correct list of AD users. Initially when i setup AD with unraid 4.7 I had to edit the domain security policy to change the authentication method: Network security: LAN Manager authentication level Set to: Send LM & NTLM responses Minimum session security for NTLM SSP Disable Require 128-bit encryption Changing these settings allowed Windows 7 clients to properly connect to the network shares. Additionally can someone help clarify if it is still necessary to change the owner/group of the shares to an Activity Directory user/group to enforce domain security? In 4.7 I was able to limit access by issuing chown -R "mydomain\myuser"."mydomain\mygroup" /mnt/user/myshare Domain Server Windows Server Core 2008 R2 System Specs SUPERMICRO MBD-X8SIL-F-O Intel i3 540 Kingston 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM ECC Unbuffered DDR3 1333 2x Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 syslog.txt
