Buffering issues in Air Video

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I recently upgraded my unRaid box in an attempt to clear up some buffering issues I had with Air Video LIVE streaming to both a iPad2 and a iPhone 4s.

They will play for 10 - 15 seconds and then stall to buffer.  I must admit, quite annoying.

The Videos are 720p-1080p default setting are left alone in Air Video.

My server stats are:

CPU - i3-550

Mobo - Asus P7H55-M LX Socket 1156

Ram - 8GB Corsair DDR3 1333

HDD - 3x WD 2TB EARS

PSU - Corsair CX600 Builder Series

Network - Linksys DIR-825 Xtreme N Dual Band Gigabit Router

unRaid is 4.7

Air Video is latest build through unmenu - ( found at http://www.inmethod.com/air-video/download/linux/alpha6/AirVideoServerLinux.jar   )

Temp Directoy is set to /var/tmp

Should this setup not be able to handle this seemingly simple task ?

Are there any tweaks/tips anyone may be able to offer ?

If I have missed any information that you would like to know, please dont hesitate to ask.

Any and all thoughts/comments appreciated and welcome !

Cheers.

Mine studders as well now and then when I use anything that is 720 quality.

Ya, I'm not really sure whats going on, from what im reading, seems it may be an AirVideo issue, lets hope it gets solved soon !

Personally I see it being the fact its trying to downscale your videos and convert your audio from 5.1 to 2Channel. Thing is, is it your iPad or your server?

When I place videos directly on my iPad and use Oplayer it doesn't do very well LOL
