March 3, 20242 yr My unraid server is shutting down randomly, it happened 3 times today …. Even the name of my server has got automatically changed to default Tower . after the restart it takes more than usual time to mount the disks and the docker service doesn’t start on its own , i have to manually start it from settings > docker . I have checked the hardware there is no issue. This thing is weird why is it happening and how automatically my server name changed to tower . im completely new to this please can someone help thanks Edited March 3, 20242 yr by drmetro
March 3, 20242 yr Community Expert If the server really shuts down, vs crashing or hanging, that's almost always a hardware issue, or power problem.
March 3, 20242 yr Community Expert The server name resetting to default suggests that Unraid was unable to read some configuration information from the flash drive. You might want to try plugging the flash drive into a pc/Mac to check it is ok.

March 3, 20242 yr Author Its my study and entertainment server , i watch my lecture videos stored on the server … please help in what could be the problem
March 3, 20242 yr Community Expert It could be worth enabling the syslog server to get a log that survives a reboot so we can see what happened prior to the reboot. The mirror to flash option is the easiest to set up, but if you are worried about excessive wear on the flash drive you can put your server’s address into the Remote Server field.
