November 7, 201114 yr I've been running unraid 4.x for some time now and am very happy with it. I'm now ready to build another unraid box (haven't decided between 4.x and 5.x yet) to place offsite and from what I can tell rsync sounds like a good way to get my data to the offsite location via a standard internet connection. I'm pretty technical but not very familiar with rsync yet. Any suggestions/recommendations from those of you doing anything similar would be appreciated.
November 7, 201114 yr If you have large amounts of data, I would do the initial copy locally, you can still use rsync, it just won't take nearly as long.
January 4, 201214 yr So, you do the onsite initial sync... and then how do you get it to maintain synchronization offsite? Russell

January 4, 201214 yr All u would do is change the setting in your rsync config so instead of it syncing data locally, it would sync remotely. The whole point is that your initial remote sync will only have to ensure the files are there versus doing all that data transfer remotely. Tapatalk is tha shizzle
