Unraid disks in UI serials do not match physical drive

Featured Replies

I'm trying to replace my parity drive with a larger disk, but I can not figure out which physical disk corresponds with what I'm seeing in the unraid UI. Here is what my UI is showing:

Here is what I am seeing in the CLI:

As you can see, the serial numbers are the same, and they do not match what I physically see on the drives. How can I determine which drive I should replace if I am unable to match up the serial numbers. Also attached are my diagnostics.

I would suggest that it is showing you the serial number of the RAID card, not the actual disks.

You may need to use a tool from the card vendor (HP) to view the actual disk serial numbers, or you may be able to see them in the card's BIOS...

Cheers.

One of many reasons RAID controllers are not recommended with Unraid.
