Reading a ReiserFS drive

Featured Replies

Hi, I had a drive fail and accidentally removed it from my array and initiated a restore of the parity drive without the drive in the array. The drive is now marked as "not installed". I have data on this drive that I need to retrieve. What would the best way be to read the reiser File System to grab the data off the drive? I'm thinking use a linux Live CD to boot and read the drive. Any suggestions are much appreciated!! thanks!

I would think that the easiest way would be to just mount the drive in your unraid box  outside of your array and copy your files off.

the not so easy way might be to use the reiserFS driver for windows and copy the data off.. or the live CD....

Hello Johnm, thank you for the reply! Dumb question, but how would I go about mounting the drive in my unRAID box outside of the array?

thanks!

If it is outside of the array, you can easily mount it.

Easiest is by using unMENU's disk management page  WARNING... DO NOT FORMAT IT... that would erase your files.  Just press the "Mount" button and then the "Share" button.

next easiest is the SNAP add-on.

do you have either of those installed?
