Sonos on unraid

Featured Replies

Hi

Iv tried to do a search but im sure i read somehwere about how to install sonos on unraid,

can anyone show me how this is done please ?

Thanks

I don't think you have to actually install any Sonos software on unRAID. Just use unRAID as NAS and connect your Sonos hardware via any supported protocol. For Sonos, it might be Samba. After Samba's activated on unRAID, just specify the path of your library (\\TOWER\***).

Yeah, that's correct.

Just point Sonos to your music.  Sonos has no software server component, it's all embedded in the Sonos hardware...  I've been using Sonos with Unraid for years, works great.

Which Sonos hardware are you using if you don't mind me asking.

Do you have a problem when your drives are spun down?  I notice if I attempt to play a song on a spun down drive it will normally fail since the drive does not spin up fast enough.  I generally just wait a few more seconds then re-attempt to play and it works fine.  Not a big issue, just wondering if you have it as well.
