November 11, 201114 yr Hey, This is probably a linux issue (or non issue?) but I was copying a film from my cache to the raid using telnet and shutdown my laptop mid transfer . When I checked the file later is was incomplete. I tested this again by just closing telnet mid transfer and the file stopped copying (it was the same size as when i closed telnet). This may or may not be designed to do this but its was something I was not expecting. I assumed the server would just work away in the background as the file, source drive and destination drive were there. I am really loving Unraid so far, I cant believe how easy I got everything installed and cache/downloading setup
November 11, 201114 yr that is expected and designed behavior. install screen, then use screen to start the copy operation. you can detach from the screen session and the copy will continue.
November 11, 201114 yr Author Thank you prostuff, Ah I am familiar with screen alright from preclearing the drives at startup. That'll teach me to delete the source file before I check for a successful copy
November 12, 201114 yr Or you can just submit a copy batch job. This way you don't have to attach back to anything later.
