unRAID - Freezing / Unresponsive

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My server keeps freezing / been almost unresponsive - If I wait long enough eventually the pages of the web ui will eventually load but this could take up to an hour to load some pages... I can bring the server back via either a reboot or restarting / shutting down the docker service... of course I have to wait a long time for the page to load.

I've attached my diagnostic zip file direct from unraid after I restarted the docker service and gained access back.

I have no idea what's causing the issue or why... if anyone can help would be much appreciated.

Try booting in safe mode and/or closing any browser windows open to the GUI, only open when you need to use it then close again, it it doesn't help enable the syslog server and post that after a crash/hang.

I believe the syslogs are in the diagnostics pack are they not?

Not the persistent syslog, normal syslog starts over after every reboot.

Unfortunately there's nothing relevant logged, this usually points to a hardware issue, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker containers/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one.
