Freshly built Supermicro X13SAE-F with i9-14900K running 6.12.8 checking in. Had to disable the on-board VGA controller using the jumpers on JPG1 to even get the Intel graphics to show up under lspci. Things work now, but no remote console via the BMC, which is unfortunate!

That's interesting. I didn't need to do that. I just needed to make sure the bios settings for the iGPU were set to turn it on.

I have remote console and iGPU working fine on an X13SAE-F.

I went ahead with the update. Happy to report that things seem to be working normally for me now.

Wanted to share an update on the 7.0.0 series. I upgraded from beta2 to RC2 today. All working with the mATX version of the board on the newer OS without blacklisting.

I did have a bug on the initial boot after the upgrade in the GPU Stats plugin (it looked like the iGPU wasn't working). I uninstalled and reinstalled Intel GPU Top and GPU Stats plugins and things worked fine after. Can't explain that, but thought I'd share in case anyone else saw the same.

Today I upgraded to 7.0.1 and reset the JPG1 jumper back to default ("VGA enabled"). Remote KVM works again and so does the iGPU. Case closed.

Thanks for the report! I upgraded to 7.0.0 last week or so, and it actually did change the behavior in the Remote KVM (the picture was not frozen to the blue bootloader), but it still didn't show the full boot process (it remained black with a new aspect ratio). Also, I had to still use the dummy plug so that the iGPU showed up in Unraid. I might have made some BIOS changes in the meantime. So maybe, I misconfigured something there. Nevertheless, I also have the feeling that the issue seems to be improving with the new kernel.

Could you please list all the configuration settings that are relevant in this regard:

Final Jumper setting?

BIOS setting?

Use of a dummy plug?

Use of the SR-IOV plugin?

You can fully utilize the iGPU in docker containers for transcoding (did you verify this?) AND have full Remote KVM capabilities?

At an off-chance, that this is related: Did you blacklist the `cdc_ether` driver as suggested here (also specifically for this board):

I did so before upgrading, and I am wondering if that is related to my issues.

Thanks and regards!

cdc_ether is the driver for a virtual Ethernet port on the IPMI, used for some sort of network redirection (not 100% sure). It's unrelated to video adapters.

Yes, this is clear. My assumption in this case was that by blacklisting the driver, the video output is not correctly redirected to the Remove KVM.

I will try an upgrade to 7.0.1 today and we will see what happens.

The JPG1 is the only thing I changed here after upgrading to 7.0.x and the iKVM started working again. No dummy plug, no SR-IOV. Transcoding working inside Docker containers. I did not blacklist the cdc_ether driver specifically myself, but it is blacklisted, so I have to assume that's defaulted or controlled by Unraid. No idea if that was the case in 6.12.x.

This driver is blacklisted by default with 7.0.1, not previous releases, I would assume this would not affect IPMI output, but if anyone finds differently, e.g., it works with 7.0.1 and not 7.0.0 using the same settings, please post.

Upgraded the BIOS on the X13SAE-F to 1.02b (BIOS dated: Tue 17 Dec 2024) and lost the i915. I had to set the JPG1 jumper to disable the BMC video and lost iKVM. I haven't tried a revert or other measures yet, but thought I'd let others know.

I have this issue:
- Use of BMC VGA/KVM (with full output until Unraid boot option ex. w/gui, safe mode, etc) AND a detected iGPU in Unraid (with or without dummy plug)

All three of my GPUs passthru just fine. but i lose all video output via IPMI/BMC and dGPU

Once Unraid boots and the boot selection screen is done counting down... I get about 2 lines of output and kapoot. Other than no video output regardless of what gpu or the bmc vga connector... all is well

It's an Unraid thing... tried bootable Windows 11 USB and all my dGPUs have video output
