ScubaBart Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Hey Guys, Until two days ago, my server worked just fine, running 5.0-beta12a. And then I tried to connect to it with FileZilla FTP through my Windows 7 PC, which didn't work. (I know there is a built in FTP - functionality in unRaid, but that's to complicated for me) So I tried adding users to unRaid, because I only had "root", and thought maybe that did the trick. Also I tried switching the User Share from public to secure and private and back. Adding and changing Windows Users also had no result. So now I still can't connect FileZilla to my server. But at the moment, I really don't care, because I have a bigger problem now: When accessing my server Through Windows Explorer, I can see all the folders on my server, (in User Shares, but also on all separate disks, not only on disk 9), but when the folder contains a file, Windows reports: "Networkfault, You have no permission to \\TOWER\disk9\Media\Concerts. Contact your networkmanager for access." (this is a translation from dutch Windows 7) Strange thing is that my Dune mediaplayer works just fine (both separate disks and User Shares), so I think it must be a Windows (Samba?) issue? Anyone Ideas? Syslog.txt
ScubaBart Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 Maybe anyone know if its possible to reset Samba in Windows? Or maybe delete it completely and then install it again? I think that Windows is too stupid to make a new connection when I switch from Public to Private and Secure. Instead it remembers some username and password that I used before, when it actually should make a new connection when I changed from Public to Private or Secure on unRaid.. Anyone know how to fix or reset usernames and passwords that Windows remembers automatically?
ScubaBart Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 I tried renaming my Server from "Tower" to "Shower". I thought Windows now is forced to make a totally new connection. I also tried to give the server another ip address. (tried the same with my Windows PC) Too bad it still isn't working..
ScubaBart Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 Thank you very much for your advice!! In the meantime, I completely had Windows Reinstalled. Offcourse without result.. I'll try to find out how to do/run that New Permissions Script tomorrow (it's night here now), I guess I can find it somewhere in the WiKi's.. I'll get back to you tomorrow. Thanx again!
ScubaBart Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 Allright: I've searched the whole manual, WiKi, and the site. But I can't manage to find how to run a script (and therefore also not the "New Permissions" script...). Anybody able to tell me how to run a (/this) script? Thanx!
prostuff1 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Did you even look through the unRAID webGUI... It is under the Utils section
ScubaBart Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 Oh my god, I can slap myself in the face! Why didn't I see that?? OK, you can all laugh at me, hahaha... Well, the script is now running, and since I have a lot of files, it's gonna take a while. I'll let you know when it's finished..
ScubaBart Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 OK guys, This did the trick! Everything back to normal again, pffff.. Thanx for helping me guys, I really didn't know how to handle this.
