Job Starts when Spinning Up Disks

Featured Replies

I have recently installed a larger disk in the array and copied a bunch of files to it.

I noticed now, when for example I view the contents of the share using the Shares tab and the File Manager, a job is kicked off and on the bottom status bar showing in red:

Quote

Completed: undefined, Speed: undefined, ETA: undefined

The CPU utilisation spikes and I need to wait for a while before this job to end...

What is this job and is their anyway to avoid or reduce the effect on the CPU?

Has it got something to do with the Dynamix File Manager which I also have installed?

Thanks.

Never seen that message reported before.

You are likely to get better informed feedback if you attach your system’s diagnostics zip file to your next post in this thread. It is always a good idea when asking questions to supply your diagnostics so we can see details of your system, how you have things configured, and the current syslog.

I initially thought this might have been a simple question.

It probably is when we can spot the culprit 🙂

Do you see the same after booting in safe mode?

I havent had a chance to boot into safe mode.  Will give that a go and report back.

It still happens usually when a disk spins up or if I browse a large file directory.
