Mini-ITX to Rackmount...HELP

Featured Replies

I have a mini-ITX with the following:

  • ASRock Z390M-ITX/ac
  • Intel® Core™ i9-9900K
  • Noctua NH-L9x65
  • 32GB (2x 16GB) DDR4 3200MHz Memory
  • SilverStone SFX SX500-G 500W
  • 1 x 3.5" Parity, 4 x 3.5" Array HDD
  • 1 x 2.5" Cache SSD

I have the space to now build a wall-mounted rack in a new house. I can't seem to find many rackmount cases that are Mini-ITX compatible. What would be the most cost effective (Cheapest) conversion to a rackmount utilising as many components I already have?

Hello, what do you have in mind? almost all 19" Rackcases can house an ITX mainboard. If not extra stated in the specs the four screw holes in the IO area are the ITX standart spaces. With you CPU cooler i would recomend not smaler than 2U in high. like this one https://geizhals.eu/inter-tech-2u-20255-88887105-a1188043.html?hloc=at&hloc=de&hloc=eu&hloc=pl&hloc=uk

this picture is just an ITX spacing reference

So forgive me it’s been years since I built any PC.

right it’s been difficult to find that info, particularly with the lack of choice in Australia for rack mount cases.

im looking at a 550mm deep wall mount rack with swing. So should I be going for a 450mm deep rack chassis?
