March 17, 200818 yr Just rebooted... I didn't have to readd my drives like the readme said I might...all 13 just showed up as soon as 4.3beta 1 popped up... seems to boot faster than before ... changed a few of my user shares (disk includes/excludes) with no issues (at least it appeared to save the changes I made, but I haven't done a 2nd reboot yet)... Copying some movies to one of my User Shares now... Hard to judge the speed for sure...78 GB and says just under 3.5 hours, but the drive (Vista SP1) is doing a few other operations right now, is HEAVILY fragmented so that might speed up some still (write performance has never been a huge issue for me... I just bundle up the uploads and start them before bed... Now that this supports 4 GB RAM, should we all run out and upgrade? I have been running 2 GB now since i built the server a few weeks ago, It's CHEAP so If I have something I need to order from NewEgg, I might go ahead and drop in another 2 just for giggles...Can use it in my HTPC or other Vista System if I don't seen any difference. The difference between 2G and 4G will be negligible unless you have a huge number of files in user shares, have a very hiigh spliit level, are doing allot of writes, running allot of extra applications or you are a developer. While the system performs well with 1GB, the extra ram provides plenty space for userr shares, cache for writes, directory lookups and applications that are running in memory and/or stored on the root filesystem in ram.
