Upgraded to 6.12.9 now Missing Cache Drive

Recommended Posts

Did the upgrade to .9 and after the reboot the Cache drive was missing.  Did the downgrade back to .8 and the drive is still missing.

I've attached the Diags from after the upgrade to .9 and then the downgrade to .8 when it was still not working.

Server is a R720xd, seems all the SAS drives are still being detected that were in the array. I have two  SSD sata drives that were for Cache and cloud. The cloud is still being detected.

I'm not sure what is going on. Everything appeared to be working fine with the exception the Array was getting low on space.

Ran the update, then stopped all the dockers, shutdown the array and rebooted. And saw the error about the Cache drive missing. says no device and below it shows the old drive/serial which i guess it's looking for.

I downgraded and its showing the same thing. I shutdown the server entirely. swapped the locations of the two SSD drives, and still the 1TB cache drive is no longer being seen..

Not sure on the controller? I believe its a LSI SAS2308.

Very weird that the system was running fine until the upgrade. But in odd coincidence I guess the drive decided to die on the reboot. I pulled it and installed into another system and is not being detected there and the system is throwing up errors. Other SSD is fine in both systems.

Thank you for your assistance.
