MD-1510/LI Tower - No response to Web Gui in 5.0-beta13

Featured Replies

Hey guys - wondering if I can get some insight into a strange problem.

Have a 15 bay MD-1510/LI Tower running 5.0-beta13. I can't login into the web gui when I hit the IP.

However, the tower boots on the network, and my WD-TV Live devices can see the SMB shares.

If I restart the machine, it does the parity check.

The Linux screen seems to boot okay. I get the login screen after all the controller checks.

When I eventually get access, it is really slow, even though the hub says it's connecting at 1000 Gb.

I don't know where to start to troubleshoot this.

Am I looking at a bad network port on the box? A corrupted filesystem on one of the disks?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

P.S> Bays 1-10, 12 are populated with drives, 18Tb total. I also have a secondary backup box, identical config, running fine.

EXCellent Smithers - that link was helpful.

After a bit of searching through the command line, turns out I have a very bad WD20EARS drive - locking up the whole system.

Pulled it and voila - back online.

Not having much luck with these Western Digital Greens. Sigh.
