Remove file/folder from read-only file system

Featured Replies

i was trying to make a copy of my media onto an external using unraid but after many fruitless attempts (mainly read only reasons + ext3 un-writeable) I have resigned to copying over the network to my external connected to my windows laptop .

I mounted the drive to /mnt/usbdrive but now it wont let remove it saying :

chmod: changing permissions of `usbdrive/': Read-only file system.

Can someone tell me how to remove this folder please, even though its doing no harm I just want it gone.

I tried lots of different things such as change ownership etc but to no avail.

Thanks alot
