Johnm Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Today I needed to restore several files from my backup unraid (5B13). I noticed that several random files from several drives are now read only (-rw-rw--- 1 nobody users) I ran "reiserfsck --check /dev/mdx" on every drive and they all came up good. I also did a binary check vs the original files and they seem to all be good (with the exception of the ones i messed up on my main server). Parity is valid... Before I do anything stupid at this point, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Id toss up a syslog, but it is clean at this point.. this box has been almost every beta since 5B6a (including 5B12 and it has lpsas-mv8's). It has also had a bad cache drive and 1 red ball in the past (at different times). So some sort of corruption in the past in not out of the question. since this is my back up box, this could have been like this for months.
dgaschk Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 You could try "chmod o+rw file" to make the file read and writable.
Johnm Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 I just wanted to make sure I was not missing anything before i started changing permissions. I already restored what i needed and changed those files. Thanks for the suggestion.
